Three Valentine’s cocktails

 Valentines Day!

To me: It is a time to show the people you love how you do. I have always been more of a Mardi Gras girl myself. I don’t think that roses and chocolate are a must have thing, and I totally say I love you by baking or making things I know the person will like.

It is hard work to put yourself in someone else shoes. For instance: I don’t take out the trash in my house, that’s my husband chore. On valentines day I will get up 30 minutes to a hour early to take it out, so he can sleep in. I also make him breakfast, and he’s so delighted.

My son and daughter are harder because they are younger. I think homemade cookies cut out like hearts will do it though, with a side of playing with their mom in the snow, or with play dough and cookies cutters so they can make their own cookies.

For me well that is for my husband to decide. But to all of you, make it a happy Valentines Day!

Need more inspiration? Nothing says I love you like booze!

Three Valentine’s cocktails to show your love one you care:

Cranberry Apple Amaretto Kiss

This cocktail is very smooth. Great for those who like fruit and or Amaretto. It is super simple, the only hard part is carving the apple into a heart, but if you have a cookie cutter no sweat.

Ingredients!

1 oz of Vodka
1 oz of Amaretto
4 oz Cranberry Juice
Apple heart for garnish
Ice and a shaker

Directions!

In a cocktail shaker add ice, cranberry juice, vodka, and amaretto. Shake, rattle, and roll until the outside of the shaker is cold to the touch. Strain into a martini glass, and place apple garnish on the rim. Serve right away and await the praise for your efforts!

Rose’ Spritzer with pomegranate seeds

Lite pink liquid and pomegranate seeds looking like gems in the glass. This one is a little dry, but great for people who love wine.

Ingredients!

4 oz of rose wine
1.5 oz of orange liquor
2 oz of brandy of you choice
Pomegranate seeds
Ice
Soda water
Red sugar to garnish and honey

Directions!

First dip the rim of a Collins in honey, then your red colored sugar. Fill with ice. Pour in Rose’ wine, orange liquor, and brandy. Stir with a bar spoon or a straw. Top with soda water, then sprinkle with pomegranate seeds.

Apple of my eye Moscow Mule

You don’t need the fancy copper cups, but I really like them! I got mine from New Holland brewing company, but if you can’t go there a regular cup will do fine.  Fancy cup or not, a drink made for a loved one is still special. Gift idea! Get them a set for Valentines day, they won’t go bad like flowers. Plus, you can use them over and over again. Here is one I found on Amazon:

Ingredients!

3 oz of apple juice
2 oz of vodka
1/2 oz of lime juice
Ginger Beer
Ice
Apple heart garnish

Directions!

Fill the cup 3/4 way up with ice. Pour in apple juice, vodka, and lime juice. Fill the remainder with the ginger beer. Stir sightly to combine the flavors.

I love this drink, it has a great apple flavor that pairs well with the ginger beer. Enjoy!
