Garden harvest 2017

My first garden harvest in Greenfield! I was happy that I got a little one, I was worried I would not get a harvest at all. It was time to harvest because the frost was threatening to come in, and you have to get all these plants in before the frost. My husband is so happy because the allergies that he is suffering from will go away. Pollen thy eternal enemy.

Silly skunk, your smell gives you away

So I know we have a skunk. I saw an adult crossing the road and I thought to myself, “Self, your garden is screwed!” I was not wrong, I saw most of my sweet corn crop go in a night. I actually think it was the raccoons, but when I saw a black and white tail also fleeing the scene of the crime it makes me wonder how I have any vegetables left at all.

Very easy zucchini biscuits. Why not make these you have plenty of zucchini anyway.

In my mom’s garden, we always got plenty of zucchini each summer. Turns out my garden does the same thing. That fresh zucchini flavor brightens up these biscuits, and adds moisture, keeping them from drying out. If you didn’t grow your own this year, stop by your local farm stand, and then enjoy these zucchini biscuits with friends and family.

Warm kale apple salad Healthy and tasty. Not joking.

Fall is coming! Why not take what we have harvest and make a salad. What kind? Warm salad. WARM KALE SALAD. When I first came across the concept, it didn’t make sense to me. I thought “All salads must be cold”, otherwise they would lose their crunch! But as the cool weather sets in, this salad warms the heart and the hands. It’s great for those days where you want a salad, and you want to be warm.
